Namibia is not a typical cycling destination. But the Moab-like landscape is well suited to riding, as three Austrian riders found when they showed up to scout lines.
The bikers saw opportunity in the harsh desert conditions when they gazed upon the Spitzkoppe, a towering granite dome rising nearly 2,300 feet above the surrounding plains.
They are treated to sections of the nearly vertical descent and the steep drop-offs to either side. Bike at your own risk — in Namibia you’re on your own if something goes wrong.
