A rare marine phenomenon turns this 59-second video into a work of art.

In this video, not only can you ride along with dolphins, but you can also experience the magic of bioluminescence.

Bioluminescence is essentially light created by plankton or other small organisms. It’s a quite magical-appearing natural phenomenon — and it’s definitely not something you see every day.

There’s a glow from beneath the surface. Curves of light and gentle waves dart between a pair of dolphins. The sight will leave you amazed or maybe struck with curiosity. Or, if you’re like me, the video will trigger a longing for the ocean.

This rare footage was filmed in Newport Beach, California.

There’s no crazy film effect and no big-picture message. It’s just a video of two gorgeous dolphins lighting up the sea.
