Global Expedition Vehicles

These big, off-road luxury homes (photos below) are designed to handle rough terrain and be fully self-sufficient. The interiors of these behemoths are more like a luxury yacht than a typical truck camper.

The EarthRoamer

Built on a Ford F550 chassis, the interior of the XV-LT feels like you’re in a Lear Jet. With options like electromagnetic cabinet latches that won’t open when bouncing down rough roads and a remote tire inflation/deflation system, this rig is ready to tackle just about any terrain you can throw at it.

Unimog

Probably the pinnacle of big boy toys, Unimogs make a great platform for hauling a living space and all the comforts of home just about anywhere you might want to go. Perky Mog is an orange, two-story overland rig built by GXV that takes luxury road life to a whole new level.

‘Rediculous’

This monster was built by Phoenix Pop-Up Campers and has two slide-outs and a raising roof. While it isn’t very off-road capable, it sure is spacious.

Earth Cruiser

The brand makes some of the world’s best FUSO-based adventure rigs, and at Overland Expo they just released a new hard-side version. This model is designed to better handle cold weather than the original pop-top.

All Terrain Warrior

Earth Cruiser’s other Australian designed FUSO-based adventure mobile competitor is the All Terrain Warrior camper, which is built out by Sportsmobile West in California. It is very custom, very luxurious, and it offers tons of available storage space.

UJoint Offroad

This brand is known for making incredibly capable 4×4 conversion kits for the Ford E-Series vans. For its company truck the crew built a 7.3L Powerstroke powered flatbed beast with a 10” lift and 38” tires called the V4. To take it completely over the top the company recently designed the “Sherpa” box to go on the back, which is a fully integrated living space and party machine, featuring a kegorator and rocking sound system.

4×4 Sprinter

The belle of the ball was Sportsmobile’s 4×4 Sprinter build. This rig comes in at around $110,000 and has been so popular that the company is now over a year out on deliveries if you were to order one today.

E-Series Vans

Since the Ford E-Series will only be sold as a cut away version soon, Sportsmobile has designed and built a composite wide-body for the cut away van which provides an extra 6” of interior width. This translates into a whole lot more volume, while still looking factory, through following the factory body lines.

Pickup Campers

Truck campers are evolving to all new heights of comfort, capability and storage capacity. This Dodge build was put together by AT Overland Equipment and it has a flatbed Four Wheel Campers pop-up truck camper.
