150 years ago the Matterhorn was climbed for the first time. In celebration of the anniversary, a team of climbers from Swiss brand Mammut made a unique commemorative ascent, placing glowing red beacons along the spine of the mountain to trace the first-ascent route to the top.
Mammut worked with the Zermatt mountain guides to climb the peak and place the lights at night. At dawn, with the clouds moving in, the scene was a stunning display in the Swiss sky.
