The latest extension of MSR Global Health, the Impact Project mixes outdoor adventures with charitable contributions.

Since its inception in 2015, Seattle-based Mountain Safety Research (MSR) has provided clean water solutions to more than 250,000 people in 30 countries. And it’s not just solving drinking water issues. Recently, MSR deployed its SE200 Community Chlorine Makers to the Democratic Republic of the Congo, where they were used to help quell a recent outbreak of Ebola.

And now, the MSR Impact Project aims to put momentum behind those efforts.

Up to this point, the only way for people to engage with MSR’s Global Health campaign was to make a charitable donation. That is still an option with the new Impact Project platform, and there are also two new options to make your mark.

You Can Hand-Deliver Hope

Pack a bag and join the MSR team on the ground. This is a unique opportunity to personally deliver safe drinking water solutions to people in need.

The inaugural Adventure Impact trip heads to Africa, where MSR Global Health is already bettering the lives of thousands of people. But it isn’t all work. The trip includes an ascent of Mount Kilimanjaro with MSR brand ambassador and philanthropist Mike Chambers.

Create Your Do-Good Campaign

For people with their own ideas, the Impact Project includes a unique peer-to-peer fundraising feature. Users can create a specific philanthropic adventure and list it on the MSR website. This helps people promote their project and measure fundraising progress. It’s a fun way to leverage a thru-hike, trail run, or summit bid to benefit a worthwhile cause.

Because your CPA wants to have fun too, proceeds collected through Adventure Impact trips, direct donations, and peer-to-peer campaigns are tax deductible through 501(c)3 guidelines.

The group then disperses the funds to approved nonprofit partners within the MSR Global Health network. To ensure maximum impact, those resources include proven organizations like PATH and Operation Blessing.
