Both the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado Trail Boss and the Hennessey Goliath 6×6 start off life as the same truck. But the latter will cost more than many homes, offer insane performance numbers, and have six-wheel drive. And only 24 will be built.

Last year, Hennessey Performance gave the world the VelociRaptor, a 6×6 600-horsepower version of Ford’s ultimate go-fast truck. Now, with the introduction of the Goliath 6×6, Hennessey gives Chevrolet fans something to drool over. And in doing so, Hennessey also takes the 6×6 American truck game to a whole new level of performance!

6x6 Ford Truck Is 'Aggression on Wheels'

The Hennessey Ford VelociRaptor build costs more than most homes, has the horsepower of a Ferrari, and six-wheel drive. Read more…

Hennessey started with new 2019 Chevrolet Silverado Trail Boss Z71 and made it into an absolute off-road powerhouse. According to Hennessey, it will be equally at home on “Rodeo Drive or the sand dunes of the Sahara Desert.”

Hennessey Goliath 6×6: More Than a Chevy Silverado

The first order of business with any Hennessey vehicle is to add more power. For the Goliath 6×6, the brand used the Chevrolet Silverado’s top engine option, the 6.2L V8, and added an HPE700 supercharger. What you get is a massive four-door 6×6 truck that can go 0-60 mph in well under five seconds. The upgrade should produce about 705 horsepower and 675 pound-feet of torque.

Of course, the first thing you’ll actually notice is the Goliath’s six huge 37-inch BFG off-road tires, wrapped on custom 20-inch Hennessey wheels. It fits that big rubber and extra axle under the truck by way of an 8-inch suspension lift and a custom truck bed.

And a custom roll bar, side steps, bumpers, LED lighting, and dual double-tipped exhaust pipes help further differentiate this monster from your typical Silverado pickup. In fact, you might not recognize it as a Chevrolet, as the bowtie and Silverado badging has been replaced with a full custom Hennessey graphics package.

Before you rush to buy, know that the Hennessey Goliath 6×6 will set you back at least $375,000. And if you customize this insane vehicle even further with Hennessey’s 808-horsepower stroker motor, full Brembo brake system upgrade, and custom interior options, expect to pay top dollar.

6×6 Trucks

Though it looks remarkable, the Hennessey Goliath isn’t the only 6×6 off-road monster truck out there. There is a little competition in this tiny niche of the automotive world. You can find Mercedes G-Wagon, Land Rover Defender, Jeep Wrangler, and Ford Raptor 6×6 truck variants out there, but they’re few and far between.

Mercedes AMG 6x6

The grandfather of modern over-the-top luxury 6×6 trucks is the almighty Mercedes G63 AMG 6×6. It’s powered by a twin-turbo V8, puts out 536 horsepower, and sports portal axles. Notably, the G63 AMG 6×6 sticker price started at $515,000 and enjoyed a super-limited production run between 2013 and 2015. Prices for these rare monsters today regularly tickle the million-dollar mark.

Huntsman 6x6

Kahn Automobiles started with a basic Land Rover Defender 110 to create the Flying Huntsman 6×6 Defender Double Cab Pick Up (say that ten times fast!). A 430-horsepower LS3 V8 under the hood ensures this monster can get out of its own way. And loads of luxury touches promise you won’t find anything else like it on the road — or off.

Bruiser Jeep 6x6

There are a few companies out there creating Jeep Wrangler 6x6s as well. Probably the most impressive is the Bruiser Conversions 6×6 Jeep Wrangler Pickup. Powered by a 480-horsepower supercharged Hemi V8 and sporting massive 40-inch tires, there isn’t much that will stand in its way. Bruiser Conversions didn’t specify a price, offering “price on request.”

As the old saying goes: “If you have to ask, you probably can’t afford it.”

Finally, Hennessey’s own VelociRaptor 6×6 truck puts out 600 horsepower from a twin-turbo V6. Prices for the VelociRaptor start at a mere $349,000, a virtual steal in the 6×6 truck market.
