Michaela Kiersch devotes her free time to climbing as hard as possible. Last fall she finally sent “The Golden Ticket,” a 5.14c in Red River Gorge. This short film by Andy Wickstrom and Just Go Climb captures her story, motivation, and the beautiful route.

Kiersch is 5’1″ yet battles through moves difficult for taller climbers. At one point she had to modify the traditional beta to complete an open-air dyno on the route.
Kiersch is only 21. Five Ten and Petzl sponsor her, so expect more big moves from her in the coming years.
