Things Go Bad Fast When Motorcyclist Crosses Colorado Floodwaters

Don’t drive through moving water. You’ve heard it over and over, and this video illustrates the wisdom of that advice.

Motorcyclist Michael Henao decided to cross a flooded roadway during massive Colorado flooding in September 2013. He loses control of his bike, gets swept downstream and under a strainer of tree limbs. It’s all captured on his GoPro camera for posterity.

Things go wrong starting at about 1:00.

It took two weeks for Michael to recover his bike and begin rebuilding. From the looks of it, he was lucky to get away with his life.
