Disney Partners With Vespa for Mickey Mouse Scooter

Among the many branded products we can expect to see for Disney's 100th anniversary, this Vespa is probably the coolest.

This summer, Mickey Mouse says “Oh Boy!” to one of Italy’s most iconic brands.

Vespa made a big splash in 2021 with the Disney Pixar film Luca, in which the brand receives plenty of love. One of the main characters literally explains to another, “It’s the greatest thing that humans ever made: the Vespa.”

So perhaps it was only a matter of time before Disney got its own version of Italy’s most famous vehicle. This year, Vespa pays homage to Disney’s 100th anniversary with a red, yellow, black, and white version of its Vespa Primavera. “[This model has] the same hues that have characterized Walt Disney’s most famous character for decades,” the brands said in a joint press release.

This Disney Mickey Mouse Edition Vespa comes with yellow wheels and black mirrors inspired by Mickey’s iconic shoes and ears. A graphic pattern outlining the character’s silhouette decorates both sides of the scooter as well as the front. Finally, Vespa added Mickey Mouse’s “signature” on both the saddle and the front shell.

The limited-edition scooters will arrive in the U.S. and Canada in August 2023, with 50cc and 150cc models available in the U.S. for $4,700 and $6,050, respectively. The 50cc model will be available in Canada for $5,345 CAD. Visit Vespa.com for details on ordering.

Or as the Luca movie puts it: “Vespa is freedom.”
