Can-Am looks to fulfill its goals of protecting and respecting the environment by partnering with the leading off-road travel nonprofit, Tread Lightly.
Money and tools are what Can-Am has committed to Tread Lightly trail crews in Utah. The new partnership between the groups includes the use of a Can-Am Defender Max Limited and a Defender 6×6 Limited to help trail workers get where they’re going and arrive with the tools and materials they need once there.
The Tread Lightly crew has put the rigs to work already, helping maintain six of Utah’s most popular off-road trails on public lands. During July and August, the nonprofit’s team began projects at Ward and Farmington Canyon, Big Hollow Stansbury, Tusher Tunnel, Bear Fork, Clyde Creek/East Fork, and Mud Creek. The partnership plans to add six more restoration projects to its agenda soon.

Treading Lightly With UTVs
Julie Tourville, Global Marketing Director for Can-Am Off-Road at BRP, said the agreement helps the brand fulfill its goals of community and environmental impact.

Tread Lightly focuses on education and resource stewardship, especially among OHV user groups.
Can-Am UTVs Put to Work
UTVs are a ton of fun for recreational use, but they’re also impressive tools for off-road work sites — in this case, for trail restoration crews in Utah to fulfill Tread Lightly’s goals.
The Defender 6×6 Limited leads with its 82-horsepower (69 pound-feet of torque) Rotax HD10 V-twin engine and pickup layout. It also boasts a 3,000-pound towing capacity, plus a 1,570-pound payload capacity.
The quad-cab Defender Max Limited prioritizes crew comfort with a leather interior, air conditioning, and power windows.
