The preeminent overland gathering in North America is expanding with a third event in Loveland, Colorado, in August 2020. This new event will be called Overland Expo Mountain West.
Heads up, gearheads: The overland event calendar is getting crowded! Not only are there tons of local and regional overland events, but the organizers behind the two biggest events in the North American market — Overland Expo East and West — will bring us all together a third time next year.
Overland Expo Mountain West
On August 28-30, 2020, the overland community will converge on Loveland, Colorado, for Overland Expo Mountain West. The event will take place at The Ranch, a 72-acre event complex just 40 miles north of Denver.
The Mountain West event will complement the 10-year-old Overland Expo West and 6-year-old Overland Expo East events. Just like its siblings, Mountain West will comprise “how-to seminars, hands-on field training, driving and adventure motorcycle riding demos, hundreds of exhibitors, and thousands of campers with adventure-ready motorcycles and vehicles in a festival environment.”
Overland Expo Colorado: Big Expectations
Organizers already expect huge things for this new event. They say they want to “draw more than 15,000 do-it-yourself overlanders, thousands of adventure rigs and motorcycles, 100 volunteers, 150 instructors and trainers, 100 staff members, and 200 exhibitors” from all over the world.
Those are lofty goals for an event’s first year. Those attendance numbers would exceed those of Overland Expo East and fall just shy of Overland Expo West.
“People attend Overland Expo to get trained, get outfitted, and get inspired for their next adventure — whether that’s 10 miles or 2,000 miles away from home,” said Jessica Kirchner, Overland Expo vice president of marketing and communications.
