If you’re looking for a pure definition of “backcountry riding,” tackling some of the rugged terrains that exist high above the Arctic Circle fits the bill.

That’s exactly what Vans athletes Arthur Longo, Bryan Iguchi, Enni Rukajärvi, and others do in the short film Arctic Roses.

And it’s not just splitboarding on display — the team also takes on some truly frigid-looking surfing. The vid wraps up with some inspired quarterpipe riding and a little silliness involving a picnic table.
