Unless you’ve been living in a snow cave for the last few years, you’ve probably heard the name Kai Jones. The 16-year-old skiing phenom has quickly racked up awards, and he spent the last winter season earning his third Skier of the Year nomination at the IF3 Awards Festival.
That’s even more impressive considering his shortened season: In March, Jones took a bad fall on a jump in Jackson Hole backcountry. He’d landed it several times before, but in this case, he broke both of his legs.
This thrilling new edit from Teton Gravity Research includes some brief footage of Jones’ painful fall and helicopter rescue, as well as some X-ray images of the screws in his broken tibia tubercles.
But the focus is mostly about ski stunts, mostly from Jones, with Kings & Queens of Corbets Champion Colby Stevenson serving up some equally tasty tricks. As for Jones, he’ll likely be back in the powder this winter.
If you want to get stoked before hitting the slopes, you’ve found your fix.
