We don’t have a lot of information about the video, but the man here seems way too nonchalant about this young black bear nipping at his ankles.
While some bear experts have spent a lot of time with the wild animals without harm, this guy’s casual demeanor is not the right way to deal with an animal that can certainly cause serious injury.
It’s not wise to invite such investigation by a wild animal. Instead, follow our experts bear safety advice and speak firmly to the bear and avoid a possible bite or worse.
A simple shout and this bear would have likely sprinted into the forest, possibly a little more fearful of people and less likely to “investigate” the next person it comes across.
