Unlike most other films, this one is made entirely out of still images — stitched together to give the illusion of motion.

Photography is an art. So is filmmaking. And so is putting the two together. In “Night Light,” you’ll ooh and ahh at how one guy with a camera somehow makes nighttime landscapes move.

Due to COVID-19, we can’t stray too far into the wilderness, especially for things like filmmaking. Right now, that’s on hold. But this artist didn’t let that stop him.

“I put this film together with my work from the past couple of years … as a reminder of what exists outside my four walls, and so others can enjoy the wonders of the night sky from their solitary confines,” wrote filmmaker Arthur Cauty.

All the still shots are taken with different exposures of the same subject, then blended together to give the effect of seamless motion, like the sun setting behind Arches National Park.

Other landscapes include Capitol Reef National Park, Joshua Tree National Park, Brecon Beacons National Park in Wales, and more. Watch for yourself to experience the moonlit magic.
