This could be the final plea to save not just the habitat of the critically endangered mountain caribou, but the species itself.
The Last Stand premieres this summer and provides a harsh look at the plight of North America’s mountain caribou. The unique ecotype of the woodland caribou subspecies lives in British Columbia, western Alberta, northern Idaho and northeast Washington.
The film dives into the causes behind shrinking forest habitats that not only threaten animals, but intrude on indigenous lands.
Check out the The Last Stand website for information on screenings in the U.S. and Canada.
The film’s producer, Wild Confluence Media, has also developed films in conjunction with GearJunkie.
