Knife For Climbers — CRKT NIAD
Rock climbers rarely use knives, but when they do, it’s usually quite critical. The NIAD is not the only knife made for rock climbing, but it seems perfect in many ways. Designed by big wall legend Hans Florine, the titanium/stainless NIAD weighs just 0.6 ounces.
The large, wavy serrations are made for one purpose: easily slicing rope and webbing, usually to clean cluttered fixed anchors of old webbing. This blade can’t open when attached to a carabiner, keeping the sharp end away from you and your lifeline.
