Thinner and lighter than an iPad, the SolarPanel 5+ is a new solar-charging option. At just 6.6mm thin (and weighing about 14 oz), it’s lithe enough to bring anywhere.
Built-in battery: The panel has a 2200mAh Li-on battery to store power for future charges. The brand touts it as enough to take a phone from 5% to 85% in about 2.5 hours.
Integrated corner latches attach it to a backpack to catch some rays while hiking. A battery and charge-strength indicator is found on the top edge, and BioLite’s Maximum Power Point Tracking enables the panel to adjust to the strength of the sun and provide optimal power at any given point.
In the video above, BioLite’s engineers explain how they solved common solar panel frustrations with simple efficiencies and conveniences in the SolarPanel 5+. More details on the $79.95 unit are at the SolarPanel 5+ page.
