‘Home’ mode will take the drone back to where it took off from. This is useful for both the landing, if you are not comfortable landing the drone, and also if it is simply getting too far away. In this mode, the drone maintains altitude and moves directly above the takeoff location and then brings itself down to safely land.

A bonus with the ‘home’ mode: I found that this mode provides very nice moving shots as the drone is flying itself back at a consistent speed to land.

The battery is said to have a 30-minute full charge. I did not test this to the minute, but it seemed accurate. I did have the drone go to low-battery mode while flying a considerable distance away from me. When this happened the drone notifies you both on the remote control that battery level is dropping to a low level by bringing a warning message onto the screen and also by the lights on the drone feet.

The first low-level warning flashes the drone’s lights red, and the more it flashes red the lower the battery level. It does also start to bring itself down and home once the low battery level is reached. As the level drops the drone lowers itself to get it closer to the ground for a quicker landing; this was great for the area I was shooting in because it was wide open.

The gimble is a 3-point brushless gimble. I don’t know what that means exactly, but what I do know is that it provides a very stable and consistently stable shot. Even when wiggling the drone back and forth while not in flight the gimble counters every movement.

The camera is a 4k 30fps with up to 12mp still photo. The camera provides clear, beautiful shots. This was not without limits though. I found that the shots were amazing during the day in both blue and gray skies. As the sun set the camera still excelled in the twilight time but then did not perform as well in the low light at night; the video simply became grainier in its default mode, which is acceptable given it was getting dark.

The remote control is simple and has a touchscreen display that shows a live feed from the drone. This is amazing to see what shot you are getting. It is not specific only to the Chroma, but it is an excellent feature.
