Alastair Humphreys, 2012 National Geographic Adventurer of the Year, shares a monologue of his escape from the urban metropolis that is Vegas to the serene and dramatic Zion National Park.
Humphreys became Nat Geo Adventurer of the Year after his creation of micro-adventures, or nearby adventures that evoke sentiments similar to those of faraway expeditions.
His latest video, “This is What I Do and This is Who I Am,” continues on the micro-adventure trend. Unable to stomach the flashing lights of Vegas for long, Humphreys decides to wake before dawn and travel to Zion.
