BIKE: Teen Cyclist Arrested, Jailed for Riding Through Stop Sign. Javier Lopez, 18, was cycling with friends in Orlando, Florida, when he was arrested on charges of resisting arrest and fleeing and eluding law enforcement. His crime? Rolling through a stop sign on his bike.

Lopez was with another rider, Christian Perpinan, who is Caucasian and was not arrested, although they made the same turn at the sign. You can watch the body cam footage here.

RUN: Man in China Runs Ultramarathon Indoors During Virus Outbreak. With many people in China quarantined due to the coronavirus outbreak, one man kept up with his exercise by running in circles around his apartment.

In fact, Pan Shancu ran an ultramarathon — 66 km to be exact. Shancu ran around his bedroom in Hangzhou, China, and used a fitness tracker to log his mileage. He ran the roughly 41-mile distance in 6 hours 41 minutes. Read more here.

AVALANCHE: 2 Killed in Colorado Avalanche Near Vail. Three snowmobile riders triggered a large avalanche Saturday afternoon near Muddy Pass in Vail, Colorado. All three were buried, but one managed to dig himself out and get help for the other two.

The crew spent 5 hours on the mountain digging but stopped when Vail Mountain Rescue arrived. Read the Colorado Avalanche Center report here.

FALLS: Thousands Gather for ‘Firefall’ in Yosemite. Once a year in Yosemite, if the timing is right, the light of a sunset hits a waterfall called Horsetail Falls and makes it appear as if it’s on fire. Horsetail Falls is located on the edge of the famous El Capitan rock face. Read more here.

VAIL: Skier Dies After Falling Off Chairlift. Officials this weekend confirmed Jason Varnish, 46, of New Jersey suffocated to death at Vail Resort after he fell through an opening in a chairlift seat and became caught with his coat wrapped around his neck. Authorities are still investigating but have ruled his death an accident. Read the full story here.
