RUN: Lazarus Lake Creates Virtual ‘Backyard’ Ultra. Lazarus Lake, the notorious creator of the Barkley Marathons and Big Backyard Ultra, is hosting a new race: the Quarantine Backyard Ultra.

Lake, along with Personal Peak Endurance Coaching, adapted the loop-style, last-man-standing Backyard Ultra to include live video streaming so runners do the race in quarantine. The concept is simple: Run as many 4.167-mile loops for as far as possible, with each loop starting on the hour.

The last human standing (or running, that is) wins. The race began yesterday and has two runners left going on lap 50. You can follow along here.

VIRUS: Outdoor Brands Continue to Pledge Support. Since last week, dozens more brands have pledged to help out in the COVID-19 pandemic, by donating, producing medical equipment in factories, and more.
