BIKE: Cannondale and EF Pro Cycling Push for Sport Inclusivity. Cannondale and EF Pro Cycling have created an initiative that will promote opportunity and racial diversity in cycling at the collegiate level.

Starting in 2021, they will partner with USA Cycling to launch two new co-ed cycling programs at one HBCU (historically Black college or university) and one TCU (Tribal college or university). No schools have yet been chosen — colleges and universities can learn more and apply here.

TRAILS: After 20 Years of Restoration, Crozet Blue Ridge Tunnel Opens. Nelson County Parks and Recreation opened the Claudius Crozet Blue Ridge Tunnel Trail system to pedestrians and bicyclists on Saturday.

The trail is located in Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains and has two access points. It runs just 2.25 miles through a restored railroad tunnel, which, when it first opened in 1858, was the longest railroad tunnel in the U.S.

WINTER: Yosemite National Park Announces Road Closures. Yosemite National Park has closed two main roads, Glacier Point Road and Tioga Road, for the remainder of the season. Visitors can expect the roads to reopen in late spring. The rest of Yosemite is open year-round.

BRAND: Slovenia’s Elan Skis Celebrates 75 Years, Creates Limited-Edition Skis. In the winter of 1987, Elan’s RC Comprex took the ski world by storm. To commemorate Elan’s 75th anniversary, the brand has brought back its classic RC Comprex ski.

The two new skis — the 75th-anniversary-edition SLX Fusion and Wingman models — have different characteristics and adjusted modern shapes, but they still have the original ’80s graphics and flair. Get your pair here.

SURVIVAL: Hiker Survives After Crushed by 8,000-Pound Boulder. A father-daughter duo was on a mission to complete an 800-mile hike (a trail running from Arizona down to Mexico) when father Luke Barnett was crushed by an 8,000-pound boulder during a scramble. Barnett survived with only a few broken bones, reported CNN.
