Weighing a massive 40 pounds, Map Link claims it created the most comprehensive atlas ever made. “Earth,” the new leather-bound atlas with a silk-lined slipcase, has 576 pages of photographs, text and maps.
Map Link says it even destroyed the printing plates, ensuring that the limited-edition book will only have 2,000 copies ever made — each with its individual number.
The silver-coated pages themselves measure 18 by 24 inches. For all this, you can expect a hefty price.
The Earth atlas is currently available, while supplies last, for $4,800 before Jan. 1 or $5,800 on or after the first of the year. www.maplink.com
