Mystery Ranch, a backpack company, was determined to test its packs in all conditions. So it decided to produce a film series about backcountry skiing along the way.

On a mission to test packs out in the wild Alaskan backcountry, skiers Carston Oliver and Eric Balken head out with Mystery Ranch’s Ben Nobel into the expansive outdoors. The film is a blur of both bad weather and good, powder and snowpack, and lots of uphill. But it’s also massive drops, expansive views, and lots of pow.

And if the film is anything like the teaser, we can’t wait to watch it.

The new film series, “Parallel Passions,” launched with the film teaser “FACETS” this week. The full-length film will premiere at Outdoor Retailer and will be available to the public on January 31, 2020.
