Watching Baker Boyd ski is outright pretty. There are slashers and speed demons and big-air artists among big-mountain skiers, and pushing the limit of control is the primary objective.

I don’t know if there’s anybody I’ve watched who seems so in control — but also so captivating — as Boyd.

Watch the Telluride, Colo., native make decisive but delicate marks on Bariloche, Argentina’s high country. Discordance struck me as a bizarre title for a clip of a skier who’s clearly so in touch with his medium. Then again, maybe the choice points to just how much cleaner Boyd thinks he can make his lines.
