A Norwegian friend explained that “cross-country cross” is a niche sport that doesn’t get much press but is popular among competitors and has its own national championships in age groups similar to biathlon and regular XC.
Why no major media coverage? It seems made-for-TV with lots of opportunity for crashes and a short, spectator friendly course. —Sean McCoy
