Move to Iceland, live in a fully furnished apartment, and spend your summer flying around the world – all for free. Did we mention you’ll get paid too?
It seems there are some really unique dream jobs nowadays. Brands are capitalizing on user-generated content and navigating away from traditional marketing. From Columbia’s Directors of Toughness to Harley-Davidson’s internships with free motorcycles, brands continue to up the ante.
The latest unorthodox adventure job comes from WOW Air, an Icelandic budget airline. From June 1 to Aug. 15, one lucky applicant – along with a friend – will move to Iceland and take trips around the world. All the while, WOW will pay each traveler $4,000 per month.
Dream Job: WOW Air Travel Guide
While you can apply on your own, WOW said it’s looking for a “dynamic duo” to fill this position. And there is work to do. As the WOW Air Travel Guide, the selected applicant and their partner will create video blogs (“vlogs”) from eight worldwide destinations and at least four more within Iceland.
For two to four days in each location, the team will produce video rundowns that rate the cities’ food, nightlife, activities, hospitality, and budget friendliness. In addition to the $4,000/month stipend, WOW Air will cover all travel and living expenses.
In between travels, Travel Guides’ home base will be a fully furnished apartment in downtown Reykjavik. From there, WOW Air said the travelers will choose where to visit from the airline’s 38 destinations, including Stockholm, Paris, Tel Aviv, Dublin, New York, and Los Angeles.
Interested? Applicants need to be of legal age according to their home country, have a Facebook account, and a strong command of the English language. To enter, create a one- to two-minute video travel guide of your hometown, then fill out the application and upload both here.
The application deadline is May 14, and WOW will notify winners May 18.
