In ‘Walking Before Walking,’ new dad and Vancouver filmmaker Adam Amir documents some of his son’s first experiences outside.

Ever thought about taking your baby camping or bikepacking? Or maybe simply on a hike? There shouldn’t be too much worry about taking young children into the wild. At least, that’s the point filmmaker Adam Amir wants to share.

In the film, “Adam Amir introduces his son to trees, snow, mist, and sand in the ancient forest of Ch’ich’iyúy Elxwíḵn — and, in so doing, reflects on what he found in himself,” teased The New Yorker.

Run time: 23 minutes.

Filmed by Adam Amir; produced by The New Yorker.
