The Italian motorcycle brand Ducati is certainly best known for producing some of the most lust-worthy motorcycles on the market. The brand has been dabbling in the bike market for years. Back in 2018, it began producing a lineup of electric mountain and e-road bike models, which Ducati continues to sell to this day.
Recently, Ducati announced plans to strengthen its presence in cycling by developing and producing a broader range of bicycles, including high-performance road and gravel models.
For the development of the new lineup, Ducati said that it’s leaning on the expertise of Italian cycling legends and champions, including Vincenzo Nibali, Elia Viviani, and Lorenzo Sudig.
“This project is born in collaboration with Diamant S.r.l., a company within Gruppo Zecchetto, an Italian organization that brings together leading brands in cycling footwear (DMT), technical apparel (Alè Cycling), and carbon and composite component manufacturing (Diamant Compositi),” according to Ducati’s announcement. Leaning into this collaboration, Ducati’s cycling project also includes apparel and accessories “dedicated to each specialty, specifically designed for the new Ducati bicycles.”

A Killer Lineup of Collaborators
Italian road and track racing legend Elia Viviani is overseeing the development of the new road range. A sprinter and track racer with over 90 professional road victories in his career, including Olympic Gold in 2016 and a world title in 2025, Viviani brings a wealth of cycling experience and expertise to the table.
“After concluding my professional career, I was looking for a project that could excite me and represent a new challenge. Supporting the Cycling Project is a great source of pride for me,” said Viviani in the news release. “The long-term goal is to bring Ducati’s sporting soul into cycling, creating bicycles that embody the brand’s values and the essence of the sport.”
Supporting Viviani is none other than Vincenzo Nibali. One of the few athletes to win all three grand tours — Giro d’Italia, Tour de France, and Vuelta a España — Nibali is one of the greatest cycling talents of the modern era. He clearly has plenty of experience and knowledge of competitive cycling and will be contributing to the development of the road range and related equipment.
“I’m thrilled to be part of this ambitious project,” said Nibali. “I’ve always had a great passion for motorsport, and Ducati has always been a benchmark for performance, innovation, and design. Contributing to the growth of such an iconic brand in the cycling world is truly an honor.”

Ducati Bicycles: Coming in 2026
Ducati already has some experience producing eMTBs, but will continue to evolve its eMTB range while collaborating with athletes, including multi-time Italian Downhill Champion, Lorenzo Sudig. Its current models were developed in collaboration with THOK, so it will be interesting to see how things change with this new initiative.
Ducati’s new lineup of high-performance road, gravel, and eMTB models will be unveiled starting in March of 2026. We’ll be watching, and we’ll keep you posted when we learn more about any of the brand’s new bike models, accessories, or apparel.
