Though she was born in Burnsville, Minn., Lindsey Vonn considers herself a Vailite and Vail, Colo., is glad she does. So glad that Vail Resorts renamed a black diamond ski run after the famous Olympian.
Vail Mountain did away with “International” to make way for “Lindsey’s” in honor of the 2010 Olympian who won gold and bronze medals. Vonn was the first American woman to win gold in the Downhill and she also won bronze in the Super G.

Why that run? The centrally located run was the site of the women’s speed events during the 1989 and 1999 World Alpine Ski Championships.
Congrats to Vonn on the honor and the Olympic bling, and congrats to all the other Olympic athletes who made their country proud.
