Tokyo has a whole lot of bikes and not many places to park them. This automated system quickly parks and retrieves bikes in an underground storage facility. While this is almost certainly a paid parking scenario, it’s an interesting idea and would be more secure than locking your beloved ride outside.
The “Eco Cycle” parking structure is developed by Giken and uses some pretty cool automation. Could this type of system catch on in the States or other countries? Would you trust it to hold your bike? We’d love to hear your thoughts.
