The whole crazy ordeal was captured on film.
A dramatic video was released today showing a flight in Hawaii crashing last month into the ocean. Passenger Ferdinand Puentes, a construction worker and spear fisherman, had his GoPro filming from impact until an amazingly calm and orderly evacuation of the passengers, who jumped out of the open plane door and into the sea.
One of the passengers, the Associated Press reported, swam to shore. The others waited for a rescue helicopter. The GoPro owner, Puentes, was unhurt. Sadly, one passenger, Loretta Fuddy, died before the Coast Guard arrived. Puentes kept his camera rolling the whole time.
