The company calls it a medium-weight backpacking boot, though in this test it was the second beefiest at just less than 2 pounds per boot (men’s size 12). High-quality leather uppers and a Gore-Tex lining make them waterproof.
A dual-density polyurethane midsole is comfortable and dampening when you tromp with a heavy pack on through harsh terrain. It’s pricey at $289. Pick this model if you need extra protection, super support, and a build that can do double duty on mountain peaks.
