The fizzy mainstay of tailgate parties, days at the beach, and campsites of every variety — Topo Chico — will soon get a hard twist.

Just when you thought hard seltzer was so last year, Molson Coors and Coca Cola strike a deal to make bubbly water great again! Topo Chico, that little slice of Mexican refreshment that somehow makes other seltzers taste like tepid sewer water, will finally join the ranks of your local liquor store.

Tuesday, Molson Coors announced it would partner with Topo Chico owner Coca Cola to make and sell a spiked version of the cult favorite, in hopes of elbowing its way into the increasingly crowded hard seltzer market. Given the 125-year-old brand’s diehard following, Coors and Coke hope to rival industry leaders like White Claw and Truly.

In a press release, Molson Coors CEO Gavin Hattersley confirmed the alcoholic variant will hit shelves in the first half of 2021 — adding just one more reason to get the heck outta 2020.

According to the brands, Topo Chico Hard Seltzer will come in four flavors: Tangy Lemon Lime, Exotic Pineapple, Strawberry Guava, and Tropical Mango. As camp season winds down and one of the craziest summers ever comes to an end, this news adds just a little glimmer of hope that next year’s weekend getaways will have a little something extra to celebrate.
