La Sportiva Miura XX Review: $200

For 20 years, the La Sportiva Miura remained a stalwart aggressive shoe for the aggressive climber. Now, slight deviations to the tried-and-true formula give shape to the Miura XX, designed in partnership with professional climber Adam Ondra.

La Sportiva touts that the Miura has a “P3 power platform and improved lacing configuration for toe hooks.” P3 technology is how the shoe is able to keep its aggressive, downturned shape.

After testing for two months, the shoe’s shape retained its stiff and aggressive model without flattening, a familiar experience to La Sportiva Miura’s without P3.

While two months is certainly not the lifetime of the shoe, I suspect the Miura XX will be a shoe to perform at a high level for a long time.

The laces are intended for superior toe hooking compared to the previous Miura lace-up. In experience, the laces and toe cap rubber were able to provide admirable grip for the occasional impromptu toe hook. However, this shoe isn’t a raw toe-hooking performance shoe. Check out the Narsha or Agro for that.

Unfortunately, only 1,000 of these shoes will be sold, online and at select retailers, so get them while you can!
