Get ready for the 2023 trail running season, Dynafit’s Trail Hero Program is here. Similar to an ambassador program, the Dynafit Trail Hero Program offers amateur and professional trail runners the chance to join Dynafit’s teams across the world. It’s open to athletes from Austria, Belgium, Canada, the Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland, and the United States, and it runs a full year.

The Dynafit Trail Hero program began in 2017. In 2020, it received over 1,000 applications and chose 20 winners. There is no set number of winners to be chosen in 2023.

“For those who just now are starting in trail running or want to raise the bar, ambitious recreational athletes are in particular an important starting point for motivation and inspiration,” noted Alex Nehls, Dynafit international marketing director.

“They mingle with the community as peers, know all about the challenges of the sport, and usually have a strong connection to the runners in their areas. With the Dynafit Trail Hero Program, we want to support these athletes. In 2023, we look forward to numerous exciting applications and in the end a diverse and mixed team.”

How to Become a Dynafit Trail Hero

Interested runners can apply between Feb. 1 and March 31, 2023, at dynafit.com/trailheroes. Athletes who have already been part of the Dynafit Trail Hero Team can apply again. The application is short, but it does require personal information, social media and Strava accounts, race achievements and race information, and an action photo and headshot. Dynafit will choose winners by mid-April.

“This program is designed to support aspiring trail runners with some product. And to connect them to a community of like-minded professional athletes. Each year we try to select mostly different candidates in order to spread this opportunity around to different people,” explained Dynafit’s press release.

Awaiting the winners is a season full of races and events (with free race entries!). They can also connect with athletes in the trail running community, and get an exclusive peek at the world of Dynafit technical gear.

Dynafit also offers free race entry to North American Trail Heroes in Canada and the U.S. You can get free entry to the Ultra-Trail Chic Chocs, Vail Trail Series, Gnar Running Series, Quad Rock 50 and 25 Mile, Never Summer 100k and 50k, Staunton Rocks Marathon and Half, Black Squirrel Half Marathon, Red Feather Jamboree 50k and Half, and the Blue Sky Trail Marathon.

Trail Heroes are also encouraged to pitch projects and ideas to the athlete manager of each country’s Trail Hero team for further collaboration.

Basically, the Trail Heroes are a small group of athletes who get a big opportunity. They get to work with and learn from a brand while racing and doing what they love.
