Regular readers know about my love affair with Newton Running, a Boulder, Colo., running-shoe company. But it was with much regret each autumn for the last two years when I had to put my Newtons away, as the meshy shoes do not acquiesce with cold weather.
The company’s (www.newtonrunning.com) latest, the Motion All-Weather Shoe, was designed for cold, damp weather. Released this week, the $175 shoe — yep, they do not come cheap — has a water-repellant upper and a sticky-rubber outsole made to provide better grip and traction in cold temperatures. Here are three sneak peek photos. The company is shipping me a test pair to demo, so I’ll report back soon with feedback on this new Newton shoe designed for the cold.
