Move Over Wienermobile, the Vans Vans Are Hitting NY’s Streets

You may have heard of ‘Vans Off The Wall,’ but what about Vans On Wheels?

That’s what’s up in New York City these days, thanks to a gonzo marketing campaign you’d be hard-pressed to miss. The “Vans vans” hit the streets recently and pounded pavement all over the city.

Er, more like they rolled over it. Enter the Sk8-Hi MTE-3, two vehicles that amount to monstrous, drivable Vans high-tops. Signature touches are all in place, from the checkerboard patterning on the upper ankle to the textured rubber toe cap.

And, according to Miami-based marketing agency GUT, construction is on point: a LinkedIn post specified 3M Thinsulate and Gore-Tex “to withstand the harshest weather conditions.”

From the looks of things, it worked. The legendary California skate shoe company shared footage of the Sk8-Hi MTE-3s cruising on snowy byways and making appearances at high-profile spots like the Brooklyn Bridge and the Lincoln Tunnel.

A giveaway for the new boots kept the action popping. “Hey, New York City, what do you wanna do, we’re givin’ out Vans in a van!” shouted influencer Lil’ “Mo” Mozzarella.

Can’t make this stuff up, folks.
