Fixed-blade knives are a top choice in survival tools. They can do many tasks, but digging and particularly prying are tough on a blade.

But then there’s this thing. The Forager’s Camp Knife is made to take serious abuse. I’m slow to even call it a knife, but more of an “edged tool.”

Made in Indiana from 9Cr14MoV steel with a .187″ thickness, this burly blade sits somewhere in the realm of knife/shovel/machete. It hacks through branches and pries up wood in the video below, and it looks all-around tough.

The beefy full-tang tool includes a 7″ flat and hollow-ground blade ending in a flat-ground chisel tip. It’s 12.5″ long overall. The handle has lashing points and slots and comes with or without a paracord wrap. You can also add custom scales or your own personal paracord-wrap.

You can save money by making your own sheath, or buy one of two sheaths from the company, a nylon MOLLE belt sheath manufactured by Ontario knife and modified to fit the Forager’s Camp knife, or a custom Kydex sheath manufactured in Indiana.

At the moment, the knives are sold out, but maker Ben Kanoff said another reward tier will be added before the end of this week for more stock.

After the campaign is complete, you will be able to purchase the knife at BaugoBlades.com as soon as they are in stock, likely sometime in August, Kanoff said.

They sell on the Kickstarter for about $60, and they will likely be priced similarly after the campaign is over.

“If your readers have any questions about this they can refer to the Updates and FAQs on this campaign page or email me after the campaign is completed at benkanoff@gmail.com,” he reported.
