Toyota continues to tease its new SUV, this time with a single image and two sentences. This time, however, the info confirms that it will be the new Land Cruiser — which we basically knew — and exactly when we’ll get much more info.

“Something great is on the horizon. The all-new Toyota Land Cruiser will make its world debut on August 1st at 9:20 pm EST.” That’s all the latest Toyota USA press release has to say, and it included the image above.

So, next week we’ll know much more. The way it is written also hints not just a U.S. market new Land Cruiser, but maybe a world market one. That doesn’t make much sense, however, as the world only recently (2021) got the Land Cruiser 300 Series — which the Lexus LX 600 is based on. The last time we saw a new Land Cruiser at a Toyota dealership in North America was 2021, with the 200 Series.

The image reveals little, other than the new Land Cruiser will try to draw on its heritage. This teaser image shows a 60 Series, whereas the first teaser image (pictured below) shows a 40 Series.

So far, I’m sticking to my prediction. The new Land Cruiser for the U.S. market will be an iteration of the just-revealed 2024 Lexus GX 550.

Hopefully, it will be available with less luxury and more off-road goodies from the factory. Land Cruiser and off-road fans — like me — are really hoping that it will come in at a much lower price point than the 200 Series it replaces.
