The CAKE Bukk is a stripped-down machine engineered for dirty fun. It’s a limited edition, for now, and will be hard to get your hands on.

Only 50 CAKE Bukks will leave the factory on the electric motorcycle’s initial run. Why? I don’t know. Given how ingenious this bike looks, it seems a shame that it will only trickle into the world.

Weighing a nimble 187 pounds, the Bukk lands with what the company calls a category-leading power-to-weight ratio.

CAKE Bukk: Features & Availability

That power comes from a 2.9kWh battery the company selected with efficiency in mind. Using standard 110V/220V outlets, the Bukk charges up to 80% capacity in just over 1.5 hours, according to CAKE.

You can also get a full 100% in 2.5 hours. And if that’s still not enough, CAKE says the 6061 aluminum frame design facilitates the “fastest possible” hot-swaps of batteries in the field — no tools required.

The result, paired with the Bukk’s 16kW motor, gives over 310 pound-feet of instant electric torque, for a top speed of over 62.1 mph (claimed).

CAKE makes few other claims about the punchy little bike, other than the sustainable design principles that drive the company’s mission, said founder and CEO Stefan Ytterborn.

“This is a true next-level, off-road electric platform,” Ytterborn said in a press release. “In our drive to promote sustainability, extending life cycles is a key focus enhancing purpose, innovation, performance and physical quality. The learnings from developing race and off-road motorcycles gives us the insight of what true durability really means.”

According to CAKE, the word “Bukk” means “thunder cloud” in the ancient language of the Swedish island of Gotland, where the company conducts its testing.

CAKE Bukk Limited Edition

It’s unclear whether more than 50 Bukks will ever be available, but we hope so, as this e-moto looks like all kinds of good fun. The limited-edition bike comes only in the brand’s race yellow and is said to already be sold out. Initial pricing started at $14,970.
