RAM is late to the EV party, but it’s putting in the work to bring its electrified trucks to market soon.

The 2024 RAM 1500 electric truck is finally being teased. RAM is planning to connect with consumers online and in person over the next year or so. The company hopes that the communication will help it shape what the electrified future of the company should look like. Online we get RAMrevolution.com, and in person we get the RAM Real Talk Tour.

“Launched as a stand-alone truck brand in 2009, RAM revolutionized the pickup truck segment once, and is laser-focused on doing so again with the best electric trucks on the market,” said Mike Koval Jr., RAM Brand CEO – Stellantis.

“Our new RAM Revolution campaign will allow us to engage with consumers in a close and personal way, so we can gather meaningful feedback, understand their wants and needs and address their concerns – ultimately allowing us to deliver the best electric pickup truck on the market with the RAM 1500 BEV.”

2024 RAM 1500 Electric Truck

We know little about the specs of the forthcoming battery electric vehicle (BEV) RAM 1500 pickup. The teaser silhouette image above and the skateboard chassis image below is our only insight into the design.

We know that it’s supposed to “launch” in 2024. We’re not sure if that means coming in 2023 as a 2024 model or that we won’t see the truck at dealerships until 2024. Our best guess right now is that RAM will be working hard to get this new electric truck out to dealers in mid to late 2023 as a 2024 model year vehicle.

The teaser images reveal little besides that we’ll see a traditional full-size pickup shape, aggressive LED lighting elements, and the truck will be on an all-new skateboard-style EV chassis. It also looks like it will have a big spacious cabin and long wheelbase with short overhangs at each end of the truck, which is no surprise, as this is the trend for all EVs.

There are solid rumors right now that we’ll see and hear much more about the new RAM 1500 EV at an upcoming auto show, so stay tuned.

RAM Revolution

Ram Revolution

The RAMrevolution.com site just went live today. RAM says it is a hub that “provides consumers with a closer connection with the brand and its EV philosophy, meaningful updates with unique visuals and content, and an ongoing dialogue that will include the opportunity to provide input as RAM EV trucks are developed.”

Our best guess is that all that means is that the website will keep everyone up to date with the latest on the RAM EV trucks. It will also offer some opportunities for consumers to voice their opinions.

RAM Real Talk Tour

Besides the new electric-focused website RAM is also reaching out to fans at events across the country to “better understand what the next generation of RAM Trucks and Vans must do to meet their needs.” RAM is calling this the RAM Real Talk Tour. The company says it will be a “series of year-long conversations with consumers at various events.”

“The RAM brand’s promise is grounded in our unique ‘Built to Serve’ philosophy, and our new RAM Revolution campaign takes this pledge even further,” Koval added. “At RAM we are built to serve our customers, understanding and delivering exactly what they need and want in a RAM. Our next-gen RAM solutions will be powerful and capable trucks that tow, haul, complete the job and always go the distance.”

RAM Electrified Trucks

RAM is committing to offering fully electrified versions of all its major vehicles by 2025. The company also expects to offer electric versions of every one of its vehicles by 2030. Those are lofty goals, as the first fully electric RAM won’t come out until 2024 with the RAM 1500 electric truck. Expect a lot of new BEV trucks from RAM in 2024 and 2025.

RAM says that it “will push past what competitors have announced and what customers expect, to deliver a fuller portfolio of technology with more range, power, productivity, and convenience.”

There is something to be said for coming to the party late. As a latecomer, RAM knows exactly what benchmarks it needs to hit to best the competition. With the speed of current EV technology advancements, RAM will also no doubt offer a compelling product when the 2024 RAM 1500 electric truck finally hits the market.
