It’s not every day that a trail runner punches a tiger in the face. In fact, I’m pretty sure that’s just a saucy story Nienke Brinkman is telling in this video. Madeira Island, where the Golden Trail Series stage race final was held, isn’t known for being home to tigers.
But that being said, there’s no shortage of trail running drama to be had here. The format, which revolves around stage races that are optional but have varying degrees of prize money, is an interesting way to keep things fresh.
