The National Park Service will commemorate Veterans Day on November 11 with free admission to all parks.
In recognition of our veterans’ service and patriotism, national parks will provide free admission to parks nationwide on Veterans Day.
“We are grateful for the brave men and women who have answered the call to serve in the military,” said NPS Deputy Director David Vela. “We invite all veterans to continue the long tradition of enjoying respite, recreation, and relaxation in their national parks.”
This will be the last free admission holiday of 2019. (A list of full free admission national park days can be found here.)
The National Park Service has set up a military webpage to provide information on military-related park history. The site also provides information on Veterans Day events and has a park-finder map that displays Veterans Affairs facilities and military monuments in relation to national park locations.
Annual Passes for Military
In addition to free admission on national holidays, servicemembers and veterans are eligible for free annual national park admission. Active duty military and permanently disabled veterans can request a free annual park pass through the National Park Service website or at individual parks.
The cost of a standard annual membership varies based on the park, but most range from $40 to $70 per person.
