The latest vid from the Italian climbing pro sees him join other The North Face athletes in a fun romp through California’s bouldering epicenter.
Don’t get hung up on grades or sends in this one — The North Face crew is out to have some fun.
That’s not to say that Stefano Ghisolfi avoids hard boulders. The Italian known for sport climbing still manages to send some tough boulder problems.
But it’s clearly more about the camaraderie and exploration for Ghisolfi’s first time exploring the world-famous boulders of Bishop, California.
And if you needed a reminder that even the elites are human, wait for Ghisolfi to explain why he backs off the top-out of a V13 called Direction. The boulder is icy and therefore a bit dangerous up top, so he avoids the final mantle and down-climbs instead.
“Maybe even for the hardest boulder in the world, I don’t want to take risks,” he says.
Hear that, rock jocks? No reason to push yourself beyond reason. Take Ghisolfi’s word for it.
