Shehroze Kashif summited Mt. Everest, the highest peak in the world, a few months ago. Now, the young man nicknamed ‘Broad Boy’ has summited the second highest peak — K2.

On Tuesday morning, Pakistani native Shehroze Kashif reached the summit of K2 at age 19. Not only did he climb the 28,251-foot peak, but he is now the youngest person to do so, the Alpine Club of Pakistan reported.

Kashif began climbing in his early teens and scaled Broad Peak, the 12th-highest mountain in the world, at the young age of 17. That summit earned him his nickname, Broad Boy. He also climbed Everest just 2 months ago.

“My Beloved Pakistan, thank you for climbing and summiting King of the Mountains [K2] with me,” Kashif wrote early this morning. “Here is a moment of pride for us. It’s Pakistan that gets international recognition, and that’s the purpose of my life to bring more respect and honor to my beloved motherland.”

Kashif also thanked all of his sponsors, climbing partners, parents, and family for their support in his summit push. “This is for all those who helped me, inspired me, and guided me on my way from Makra to Broad Peak to Everest to K2.”

K2 was first climbed in 1954, and a team of Nepali climbers made the first winter summit of the peak in January of this year.
