GearJunkie expands its reach into the outdoor realm with a new site focused on hunting and fishing.

Hunting and fishing are at the core of outdoor pursuits. But all too often, marketing and politics wall off these pastimes from activities like hiking, camping, and biking.

I think it’s time to lower the wall and bring the outdoors community together. Today, we expand coverage to stake a claim in the hook and bullet realm. The move comes after months of preparation starting at the Archery Trade Association’s 2018 show this last January.

I’m excited to announce the new addition to GearJunkie and my role as the associate editor of Hunt & Fish. As a lifetime outdoorsman with a decade-plus experience in the outdoor recreational industry, I feel perfectly matched for this position.

We believe the core of fishing and hunting is a longstanding conservation ethos. Just look at the work of groups like Ducks Unlimited, Pheasants Forever, or Backcountry Hunters and Anglers for myriad examples of work to conserve land, water, and habitat for the future. But we realize hunt and fish is not for everyone. Many of these stories will thus reside on a dedicated Hunt and Fish page. Check out the new design and let us know what you think.

‘Bridge the Gap’

It’s an absolute goal of mine to work toward bridging the gap between hunt/fish and the general outdoor recreation.

New Office, New Location

Just as the team opens its new office in Denver, the hunt and fish office begins in Bozeman, Montana. This location offers direct access to large portions of the hunting and fishing industry.

And let’s not forget the world-class hunting and fishing waiting mere minutes outside the office door.

Bozeman offers access to brand interactions, industry influencer happenings, and prime locations to test gear in the field. We couldn’t have asked for a better town to launch from.
