Pro mountain biker Claire Buchar is ready to hit the trail. In this video, she stops to talk motivation and give us insight into why she rides.

As the rear hub ratchet buzzes and the aspens catch the afternoon light, Claire Buchar heads out for her ride. The video from Teton Gravity Research is less than 4 minutes long, but in that short time we get to hear, see, and feel everything Buchar does.

There’s ominous and fierce music, footage of her biking in slow motion, and the repetitive rustling of leaves. The video is worth every second.

Even today, somewhere in the Colorado town of Crested Butte, Buchar is pumping her legs up a mountain, hitting jumps, and reminiscing on her life of biking.
