[leadin]From Minneapolis to Salt Lake City, the editors of GearJunkie make a twice-annual pilgrimage to the Outdoor Retailer trade show, a mecca for gear junkies and outdoors enthusiasts. This winter, we’re loading up and hitting the road to test gear and find adventures along the way.[/leadin]
Join us as we motor the 1,200+ miles from GearJunkie hq in Minneapolis, through the vast Great Plains, and into the Rocky Mountains beyond.
Our goal is the Outdoor Retailer trade show, where GearJunkie seeks the best new products to be debuted for 2016.
Along the way, we’ll ski, climb, hike, camp, and generally find adventure during the week-long trip. Joining the GearJunkie crew are Zach Doleac and Lauren Steele, Columbia Sportswear’s “Directors Of Toughness” as well as filmmaker Joshua Van Patter. We’ll document the experience here via articles, photos, social media, and a video at the end.
Our exact plan is being kept a bit stealth for now as we watch weather and avy conditions in Colorado and Utah.
But expect the GJ ship to land at Solitude Mountain Resort on January 6th, where we’ll hit the slopes for the Outdoor Retailer All Mountain Demo to kick off the experience at OR.
